General Fine Arts Vol 2 Issue 1, “Values”, was brought together around the two themes of value and values — its inadequacies, and how it persists in the shapes it does. Not so much to address or as some sort of salve for some crisis in value — even though the feudalisation of wealth, privatisation of the “public,” or collapse of the entities that underwrote it might tempt this — but to invite contributions that come into contact and proximity with one another in questioning the value in crisis; in the abstraction and separateness of value; and to instead find what is valuable in claiming against these categorisations. The issue brings together a number of texts, images and audio that each figure a response to, or make a claim amongst this.
